My Testimony...
"After my story began in brokenness with my parents’ mental illness and eventual divorce, life got more complicated when I was put into foster care at age 5. I desperately needed God to step in and turn my story around, but unfortunately my life my life got worse before it got better when it hit rock-bottom 2 years later when my father died in a freak work accident. Yet by God’s grace, it was in this tragic moment in my life that God actually started to turn things around. He was “behind-the-scenes” working to bring good even out of my dad’s death. Instead of getting out of foster care, I was put into a different foster family who put me into a private Christian school and took me to church. Here I heard the good news about Jesus, and God rescued me from my sin and turned my story around.
After growing in my relationship with God, God eventually called me to be a pastor in college at Cedarville University; after getting married to my wife Amy after college, I went to seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School outside Chicago, IL. After 1 year in youth ministry in Illinois, my family returned back to Dayton, OH for my wife to start her psychology practice in Fall 2019. A couple months later, I gratefully accepted God’s call to be pastor of Pleasant Hill Brethren In Christ Church. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, movies, sports (especially basketball and disc golf!), hiking, eating good food, and spending time with my wife Amy and young son Preston."
